Finished one!

Finally! I finished a book; been a bit slow of late ( lots of things to do other than read). Pigeon English finished – all told a very engaging read. The “voice” of the main character (harri) is brilliantly conveyed and the use of phrasing and language befitting his origins is a very clever literary device. The tale is quite “adult” although I was quite confused for some time as to whether this was a childrens book or an adult tale. This book would suit more mature children of 11 and above. The themes of knife crime , love and innocence can ring through the ages via a book like this. I was quite shocked in respect of the ending, but felt that this was the most appropriate way of bringing the message firmly home.
