This book is a dense but comprehensive overview of the major themes in Protestant theology. It is completely readable by the average churchgoer and is straightforward and direct. I think Driscoll treads a fine line in some areas but is consistent throughout. It is unrepentant in it’s stated literal approach but unlike a lot of fundamentalist outpouring, it remains balanced and approachable and quite unlike a lot of his contemporaries. His views on creationism, sexual theology and hell are areas which divide and create horrible polarisations but Driscoll gives a way forward for those Christians who would like to remain faithful to the bible but cannot bring themselves to be alongside the nutcases. All in all it does exactly what it says on the tin.
