Sharp as it comes

This is a near perfect crime thriller. Jasmine Sharp is back in the saddle of her deceased uncle’s private investigation firm “sharp investigations”.

An elderly client arrives looking for information about her missing sister. At first it appears that it will be a straightforward case but it quickly becomes apparent that the missing sister is somehow linked to the recent murder of a prominent Scottish arts personality.

The ensuing investigations involve unearthing the links to a previously disbanded theatre group.

There is horror, comedy, rumours of snuff movies, theatrical incest; oh; and the return of Glen Fallan when the action really livens up.

Brilliant, superbly written and tightly plotted. I’ll give it a while before I read the follow up but not too long!
