Ghosts

I am so sad that Paul Torday will no longer deliver his superb fiction.

In his short writing career he gave us a wonderful host of characters and the superlative ‘light shining in the forest’. One of the tales here is a parallel storyline within that narrative and concerns a parish vicar who is confronted with what appears to be prima facie evidence of the existence of the supernatural whilst at the same time doubting that the supernatural exists. We are thus led on the trail of a force which will remain unexplained.

The other tale “Hotel Dejavu”, is a classic ghost story which is done in such a way that you are simultaneously comforted by the familiarity and discomforted by the nature of the Ghost.

Who can compare with such talent?
